As many in the industry, Lisa gained her knowledge of the business as a receptionist that allowed her to learn the trade from all angles. She re-joined the Edwards Team in January, 2016 after taking a position with a local bank for a few years. She started her career at Edwards Abstract and Title Co. at the original Edwards’ Corporate Office in downtown Edinburg. Letty gained her knowledge of title the insurance industry as Escrow Assistant to Diana S. Kaufold, Sr. Commercial Escrow Officer. Working with a high performance Escrow Officer, Letty was given the opportunity to work on some of the most complex and challenging residential and commercial transactions. Alma started her career in the title insurance industry as a receptionist where she had the opportunity to learn the business and personally meet customers. As the Director of First Impressions, Alma handled the busy office incoming calls, walk-in customers, worked with the Escrow Officers with the closing schedule, plus a multitude of other duties. This hands on approach allowed Alma to craft her skills and improve her knowledge regarding commercial, residential and construction transactions. Matthew serves the company as File Clerk, which is an important task considering the volume of files that he must track. Anytime an Escrow Officer or member of Management needs a file, Matt is the go-to guy to locate it and distribute the file. In the title insurance business, many of the documents are needed NOW, so the delicate part of storing and tracking files at Edwards is meticulous work. Matt has also filled in on many occasions as part-time courier in Hidalgo County. He has had the opportunity to meet many of Edwards’ customers and staff at the many offices that we do business with. At that time, the Edwards corporate office was located in the heart of downtown Edinburg at 208 W. Cano St. within a very close proximity of the Hidalgo County Courthouse. Lydia started working with the company as an abstractor and her attention to detail and preparation of documents allowed to her to learn the title examination process. Lydia was surrounded by a highly trained and experienced title examination team and she welcomed every opportunity to learn about the process to become an examiner.
