Edwards Abstract and Title Co. hosted the 22nd Annual State of Real Estate Forum on March 5, 2026, bringing together real estate industry professionals, developers, and community leaders from across the Rio Grande Valley. Mark A. Lewis, President of Edwards Abstract and Title Co., welcomed attendees and thanked industry partners and members of the Edwards staff. As he has for the past 20 years, Dr. Ted C. Jones, Economist, headlined the Real Estate Forum and served as the keynote speaker. During his presentation, Jones discussed national economic conditions and their potential impact on real estate. He also discussed the growing energy demands associated with modern infrastructure, such as data centers, and expressed skepticism about the human role in climate change. A record crowd also witnessed a special tribute presented to Dr. Jones. Chief Executive Officer Byron Jay Lewis and President Mark Lewis acknowledged his commitment to Edwards Abstract and Title Co. and the State of Real Estate Forum with a plaque recognizing Dr. Jones’ service during the past 20 years.
